From a 1920s homestead to today's regenerative farming operation, our story spans five generations of family dedication to the land, the animals, and sustainable agriculture.

Our family's journey through five generations of farming, from homestead beginnings to today's regenerative agriculture practices.

Katelyn's great aunt and uncle built this historic house on 150 acres split from their family farm. During recent renovations, we unearthed boards signed by the original builders—a tangible connection to our roots.
The land was later stewarded as a thriving dairy operation for an incredible 100 years, carrying the care of the property through the 20th century.
Katelyn (5th generation) and Patrick (3rd generation)reunited the original homestead land with the Schommer name, bringing the story full circle.
With invaluable support from family, friends, and loyal customers, the operation is being transformed into an organic holistic model honoring both tradition and innovation.
Today, you see generations of expertise in every pasture and premium cut—a perfect blend of old-school values with modern, eco-focused farming.

Both Patrick and Katelyn were raised with a farming background, and Patrick pursued a degree in Agricultural Engineering which helped stay connected to the field and continue learning and stewarding the land toward a sustainable and regenerative future.
We try to practice what we preach and are expanding a rotational grazing and regenerative/organic production model for the past several years, learning more every year to reduce soil loss, minimize natural disturbances and maximize sustainability.
With friends, family, and the University nearby bringing generations of production and breeding knowledge, our goal is to combine an academic 'always learning' attitude with hands-on, time-tested farming wisdom.
